Telecommunicator

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Telecommunicator for the new Waukesha County Consolidated Public Safety Communications Center (completed January 2004). The new Communications Center is a state of the art; stand-alone 12,000 square foot facility dedicated to communications and includes a dedicated training center. Telecommunicators provide countywide emergency communications (including EMD) for Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS (by the end of 2004 will provide service for more than 50 agencies). The Communications Center is an Enhanced 911 PSAP utilizing Spillman CAD, Motorola 800mhz Trunked Radio system, and Positron 9-1-1 situated on Watson Dispatch consoles. Requires high school graduation or GED with 2 years of post high school experience. Desire prior experience as a dispatcher/EMD in a public safety radio communications system; prior knowledge of Windows software applications; ability to type 25 WPM; good hearing; clear speaking voice; and ability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Salary range: $16.65-$19.12 per hour plus excellent benefit package including health, dental, life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, plus much more.
