I?ve been employed with Young County for 12 years, having worked in many different areas of county government in my tenure. I?m a certified peace officer, jailer, dispatcher, and the assistant Emergency Management Coordinator for the county. I?m a member of NENA, APCO, and the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas and also serve on the Board of Directors of the Regional Red Cross of North Texas. As Director of 9-1-1 Services in Young County, I initiated the computerized mapping and rural addressing for the county. I?ve been very active in the development of 9-1-1 systems in Texas.
As President, I?m excited to begin work on issues and challenges of our organization. I will work very hard to increase training opportunities for 9-1-1 professionals, including technical information, as well as assist with the public education challenges we all face. In the last few years public safety has seen tremendous growth and gone through many changes.
I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Leslie, age 22 and Ashley, age 15. Both girls keep their mom very busy. I enjoy golfing and water sports, with are readily available in beautiful Young County, Texas the heart of the lake country.
