Annual Conference Scholarship Program

PURPOSE
Michigan NENA has established a tuition scholarship program to achieve anumber of objectives:

To assist public safety professionals in reaching a higher level of knowledge by participating in either the State of National annual conference

To assist public safety agencies with the cost of professional development, and thereby contribute to their ability to provide continuing education to their employees.

To enhance the knowledge of public safety agency employees so that they, in turn, will contribute to their agency and the profession as a whole.

To assist in the Association’s goal of “One Nation-One Number” by providing education to those agencies that have not deployed E9-1-1.

CRITERIA

The applicant’s employing agency must be financially unable to pay the cost of attending the Conference selected. (Honor system, no documentation required)

Applicants must be in the ACTIVE category of NENA membership and must be employed on a full-time basis by a public safety agency or appointed to an official 9-1-1 planning board.

Applicant must not have received a scholarship in the previous program year.

Scholarships will be awarded for both the Michigan 9-1-1 Conference and theNational NENA Conference.  Select the navigation button to the upper leftand view the description of each program.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
A printable application isavailable by clicking the “application” button above on theleft.  Complete the application, indicating which program you arerequesting and submit the form by the application deadline indicated.

RESPONSIBILITYOF RECIPIENTS
Scholarship recipients mustattend the full conference, barring illness or unforeseen emergencies.  Incase of an applicant being unable to attend the specified conference, theapplicant may re-apply at any time to attend a full conference.  However,scholarships are not transferable to another individual.
