WIRELESS 9-1-1 (Norm Forshee): On behalf of the Legislative Committee, Norm Forshee requested approval from the membership to hire a consultant to pursue our effort in passage of the wireless 9-1-1 legislation during the veto session. He advised several wireless vendors and Doug Edmonds’ ETSB are willing to contribute to this cause. Should the legislation fail to move during this veto session, it is highly unlikely passage of the legislation would occur in the next few years. A motion to proceed with the hiring of a consultant was made by Steve Hullcranz and seconded by Harland Hector. During the discussion Norm Forshee stated he hoped the costs would not exceed $15,000.00. President Whipple stated there was over $7,000.00 in the Education Fund which could be utilized for this purpose. Wireless vendors agreeing to assist with this cause, all agree with the legislative language. Several wireless companies have agreed to a public advertising campaign. The motion passed unanimously.

NATIONAL NENA PRESIDENT (Bill Hinkle): President Hinkle advised he had just received information that President Clinton will be signing SB800 into law this evening.

The motion to adjourn was made by Rich Tuma and seconded by Mike Moos. The motion passed unanimously.
