This afternoon I received information that I would like to forward to each of you.
The Governor’s Wireless 911 Committee met in Chicago. At the meeting Norm Forshee was appointed as Committee Chairman, Robert Lombardo,Vice Chairman and Mike Midiri, Secretary. It was decided that 3public hearings will be held to determine the amount of the surcharge for wireless 911.
The meeting dates and locations are as follows:
- Monday, May 8, 2000 at 10:00 AM in Chicago. The exact location is TBA.
- Monday, May 15th, 2000 at 10:00 AM in Springfield at the Illinois Commerce Commission Office located at 527 E. Capitol Ave.
- Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at 10:00 AMin Collinsville at the Illinois State Police Headquarters located at 1100 Eastport Plaza.
The Board will then meet again in Chicago on May 23, 2000 to make their final decisions and set the surcharge for wireless 911 service in theState of Illinois.
