The destruction and desperationcaused by Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita has beenheartbreaking. Louisiana, Texas and Mississippiwere devastated, and today they need your help! There are many ways, as members of the 9-1-1community, that you can make a difference.Specifically, on behalf of those effected, NENA isasking for donations for emergency communicationspersonnel who continued to serve during and afterthe storm

The NENA and APCO State Chapters are working together to get relief to their members. The following links provide information on where you can send money or goods. There are a number of other ways to make yourcontributions.  NENA has partnered with 9-1-1Cares and they are accepting donations for membersof the 9-1-1 community and their families here. Other  organizationsaccepting general monetary donations, include the RedCross and the Salvation Army.  The RedCross also has a ‘family links registry’ on theirwebsite for anyone who may be talking with victimsor families trying to find victims to verify wherethey have been evacuated to. Victims can registervia an 877 toll free number or online.
