We have experienced difficulty and confusion in updatingmailing addresses for some customers when some 911-conversionshave taken place at various times over the years.
I am attempting to gather information on how new 911 addresssystems are designed and how they are communicated to theresidents and the USPS. Are there any standards or guidelines inexistance to assist local 911 committees in developing addresses?Is there any formal process of notification to the Post Office?How is notification to residents handled? Is there an updatedlist of any type maintained to indicate areas (by Zip, area code,etc) undergoing re-addressing due to 911 activity?
