When a PSAP receives an emergency call involving another jurisdiction, that emergency situation can require the contact information of a PSAP in another county or state. With the up-to-date contact information located in the NENA PSAP Registry, you will be able to effectively communicate and work with other PSAPs across the country to solve emergency situations!
In a time when accurate public safety information can shave off precious time from an emergency call situation, it is crucial that the information within the NENA PSAP Registry is current! By registering for a PSAP Registry user ID and password, and simply logging-on to the Registry, you can have access to other PSAP contact information in seconds!
The primary goal of the Registry is to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of the information that is passed among PSAPs, private call centers and other stakeholders in emergency situations. Because of the sensitive nature of the contact information that will be contained within the NENA PSAP Registry, online access to the Registry is secure and password-protected.
Because of the importance of having accurate information within the NENA PSAP Registry, please periodically verify that your PSAP contact information is correctly reflected in the Registry. After your initial registration and verification is complete, you will be able to begin using the Registry immediately!
NENA plans to add Canadian PSAPs to the Registry.
STEPS FOR VERIFYING YOUR PSAP CONTACT INFORMATION:

NENA-Intrado Partnership Becomes Official
In March 2002, NENA and Intrado entered into a partnership to develop a national registry of U.S. Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). By entering into this relationship, both organizations are committed to improving the information exchange among the public safety community. The result of this relationship will be a central source of accurate, timely information that will better assist the PSAPs located across the country to respond to emergency situations.
The NENA PSAP Registry is another example of NENA’s commitment to being the “Voice of 9-1-1.” Ultimately, this program speaks to NENA and its membership’s abiding interest in ensuring that access to 9-1-1 information occurs the correct way.
The information available through the online Registry will not be available to just any organization – the information will only be available to those organizations in the emergency response and services field (unless specifically permitted by the members of the Registry). Every subscriber to the NENA PSAP Registry will be reviewed by NENA staff for authenticity and intended use of the data. To aid in the facilitation of the review process, NENA will be working with the public safety community and private call centers to develop private call center certification criteria.
PRODUCTS
In addition to the NENA PSAP Registry, other products will be developed through the partnership between NENA and Intrado that will target both the PSAP community, as well as commercial entities.
Due to the sensitive nature of distributing PSAP-specific information to the commercial vendor community, each PSAP will be able to state their level of interest in being contacted by individual vendors.

Native, or “back-door” 9-1-1 numbers will not be released to outside parties without a rigorous screening process. Each member of the PSAP Registry can choose to not participate in the commercial products. |

9-1-1 managers, by participating in the Registry, can designate how and under what circumstances they would like to be contacted. |
The products listed below will not be available all at once, but will be launched in phases as they are successfully developed. Specific product descriptions and availability are listed below.
