general session – Thursday workshop
Incident Command for Emergency Dispatch
Kevin Willett and Richard Behr

Thursday, June 30
9am – Noon

Did you know that public safety dispatchers are required to have National Incident Management System (NIMS) training? According to FEMA, federal, state and local departments and agencies must adopt NIMS by FY 2005, including the private sector, and contract fire and EMS dispatchers. These organizations and personnel must also participate in realistic exercises to improve integration and interoperability. In this session, Kevin Willet and Richard Behr will equip you with all the tools necessary to conduct FEMA-approved training, including low and no budget tips to accomplish this training in your agency and region. They will also show how Incident Dispatchers and Mission Critical Communicators all fit into the NIMS model.
