Christy Williams currently serves as the  9-1-1 Program Manager for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, administrative agency for 9-1-1 in fourteen counties.  NCTCOG serves 42 PSAPs in an area surrounding Dallas/Ft. Worth.  Christy has been in the 9-1-1 industry for over fifteen years and previously held the positions of Operation/ Communications Specialist and Public Education/Training Coordinator.   

Christy has a degree in Communications from Texas Wesleyan University.  She has developed multiple programs and campaigns; written articles, courses and training material; and presented at numerous local, state and international conferences.   

Christy has held positions on the Texas NENA Chapter Board as North Coordinator and Treasurer and has served as President of the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas.  She currently serves on the national NENA Educational Advisory Board as well as chairing the national NENA Public Education Committee through Center Operations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lisa has fourteen years in Public Safety and has been the 9-1-1 Coordinator for Harris County since January 1996.  She began her career with the Sheriff’s Department as a Telecommunicator responsible for handling incoming 9-1-1 and ten-digit calls, radio dispatch and TLET/NLETS Operations.  Prior to becoming the 9-1-1 Coordinator, she was the Custodian of Records responsible for all PSAP audio and printed records that allowed her to develop relations with other agencies as well as work within the criminal justice system.  In her present role as 9-1-1 Coordinator she is primarily responsible for the day-to-day business/operations of the 9-1-1 PSAP, as well as managing human resource matters and a training program for a 130-person dispatch center.   

Lisa’s background includes a BBA from Sam Houston State University. She is presently working towards a Master Degree in Emergency Management.  She is a certified instructor for APCO and for the Texas Department of Public Safety.  She holds an Advanced Telecommunicator License with TCLEOSE.   

Lisa is an active member of APCO and NENA.  Lisa is currently the Secretary for NENA-TX having previously served twice as the East Regional Coordinator.  She is the Chairperson for the Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce, a joint NENA-TX/APCO-TX initiative to provide a mutual aid resource specifically for 9-1-1 PSAPs in Texas.  She serves on the NENA ADA Committee, chairing a workgroup focused on establishing standards for TTY training.  She previously served on the NENA’s Operational Development Conference Human Resource Committee.  Lisa is a member of the Harris County Women Professionals in Government that focuses on networking and developing relations with other professionals in local government organizations.  

On the home front, Lisa spends quality time with her 9-year old son Travis, by being a leader in his Boy Scout organization.  Lisa and husband Daryl have been married for 12 years.  Daryl is teaching her how to use power tools as their remodel their home!  She participates in her local community association and helps Daryl when he works at charity cook-offs. When she has quality time for herself, she likes to read, cross-stitch and do genealogy research.
