ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
OCTOBER 23, 2000
President David C. Whipple called the Annual Membership Meeting of INENA to order at 4:25 P.M. at the INENA-APCO-ICC Conference in Decatur, Illinois.
OFFICERS PRESENT:
David C. Whipple (President), Richard Jones (Vice President), Vickie Leibach (Secretary), Michael Midiri (Treasurer), Douglas Edmonds (Region 1, Vice President), Jerry Bleck (Region 2, Vice President), Sandy Beitel (Region 3, Vice President), David Tuttle (Region 4, Vice President), Kelly Gieker (Region 5, Vice President), Kathy Monken (Region 6, Vice President), Scott Sylvester (Region 7, Vice President) and Jeff Rodrigues (Region 8, Vice President).
OFFICERS ABSENT: None
OPENING REMARKS: President Whipple expressed his appreciation to the membership for them allowing him to serve as INENA President and as a past Regional Vice President. He stated the INENA organization continues to grow and collectively, we have achieved many accomplishments. President Whipple stated the passage of the wireless legislation was the highlight of his term and thanked everyone responsible for their part in it.
APPROVAL OF INENA MINUTES: The motion was made by Richard Tuma and seconded by Mike Moos to approve the INENA General Membership minutes dated September 7, 2000. The motion passed unanimously.
TREASURERS REPORT (Mike Midiri): Mike Midiri reported $2,295.72 in the INENA Education Fund; $27,365.41 in the INENA General Fund as of October 23, 2000; and $22,000.00 in Certificates of Deposit. A motion was made by Richard Tuma and second by Mike Moos to approve the treasurers report. The motion passed unanimously.
VICE PRESIDENTS REPORT (Richard Jones): No Report
NENA PRESIDENT (NORM FORSHEE): NENA President Forshee commented on several INENA members, also employees of Ameritech/SBC who will be retiring soon and encouraged them to remain active within the Association. He informed the membership about Mayday Readiness Calls. Our PSAPs are already taking these types of calls. If you want them to notify the correct agency, you need to give them the right number. PS Comm 2000 will be in Orlando, Florida from November 5-8, 2000. National NENAs Critical Issues Forums will be held on a regional basis. President Forshee extended his appreciation to the membership for their support and assistance in 9-1-1.
NENA REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT (RON BONNEAU): NENA Regional Vice President Bonneau thanked the membership for their hospitality and support over the years. National NENA is looking for key people in positions on a national level. Illinois NENA has a right to be proud of the success of their conference.

Region 2 (Jerry Bleck) Region 2 continues to work on wireless 9-1-1. Kane County is putting in trunks and hoping the wireless carriers will be on line by the end of the year.

CONFERENCE (Kathy Monken): Kathy Monken reported the Conference attendees have exceeded 700. Kathy thanked everyone who had assisted in making this years conference a success including, but not limited to, the members of the Conference Committee. Sixty-eight vendors participated in the conference this year. Next years conference will be held in Springfield, Illinois on October 21-24, 2001. Jerry Bleck reported the awards would be presented during the luncheon tomorrow afternoon.

ILLINOIS TELECOMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATION (Carol Wagner): Carol Wagner advised the ITA would be hosting a Basic 101 for 9-1-1 session Tuesday. The ITA organization also offers assistance with wireless implementation.

WIRELESS 9-1-1: President Whipple reported the Wireless Rule 728 goes into effect on October 25th. It was filed and approved on October 18, 2000.
