NENA Encourages Passage of Amended Version of VoIP 9-1-1 Bill

(August 3) NENA joined the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators (NASNA) in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Frist and Minority Leader Reid today in support of an amended version of the IP-Enabled Voice Communications and Public Safety Act (S 1063). The amended version removes a controversial provision on waivers while still including numerous provisions beneficial to 9-1-1.
