NENA – Texas Chapter Board

NENA – Texas Chapter Board
1996-98 President
Toni Dunne

Toni is currently the Training and Access Program Manager for the Advisory Commission on State Emergency Communications. Her experience includes six years with the state 9-1-1 agency and over 18 years working with the Deaf community. She is a member of NENA, APCO, the Texas Police Association, Association of Texas Law Enforcement Educators, the National Association of the Deaf and Texas Chapter, the National Self Help for Hard of Hearing, and the Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf. Additionally, she holds a TCLEOSE Instructor’s License, APCO Instructor Certificate, sign language and oral Interpreter Certification.

Her interests include reading mysteries, counted cross-stitch, reptiles, and signed music. Camping, scuba diving and snow skiing are RARE but favored activities. Coordinating family reunions is just one way she demonstrates how important family ties are. She usually can’t help but teach people sign language at every opportunity and her three year old nephew eagerly learns!

Toni’s goals for her term as President are” to lead the organization through a strategic planning process, which includes the development of a sound fiscal plan, in order to prepare for the future success of our great state’s chapter.” She continues to be a strong advocate for the continued enhancement of information dissemination through the Internet and TENA Transfer, and increased training opportunities. “I am honored to step into the role as your President and will strive to represent you and Texas to the best of my ability. I have a dynamic team to work with, and together we WILL accomplish our goals!”
